Quick Lunch

I have a standing girls' day out with my mom every six weeks. We go to the beauty salon for some pampering then go shopping or have dinner after.

There's a salon about an hour's drive away from us that we've been going to for years. It's located in a shopping center with lots of Filipino restaurants and stores and there's always something new or interesting to see.

One of our favorites is a fast food place called Chow King. The food is quick, cheap and good. Definitely a welcome change to the usual burger and fries.

They have an extensive menu to choose from, but one of the best is the noodle soup and steamed bun combination. With the weather cloudy and drizzly, a steaming bowl of lomi chock full of chicken, shrimp and veggies and a meatball siopao was the perfect lunch.
