Still Life

All the photos you see in this blog were taken with a Canon Powershot A520, a present from D. last year.

I'm still playing with its myriad features while learning Photoshop at the same time. This is a series of what I like to call still life "speed" shots which means I took photos of the same subject in different angles and in quick succession.

The lovely red bowl made of tempered, lacquered bamboo came from Vietnam. It's swirling pattern and deep red hue is so pretty I find myself using it as a salad bowl as well as a table centerpiecee by filling it with fresh fruits in season (pippin apples are especially striking) or by filling it halfway with water to float flowers in.

The bowl comes in different sizes. This medium-sized one sells for $15 at Target or Cost Plus.
