Spaghetti Bolognese

I found this mouthwatering spaghetti bolognese recipe, complete with step by step photo instructions, and decided to give it a try.

The result was delicious. The addition of heat from the sambal and sweetness from the honey gave the sauce a complexity and depth of flavor that makes it an outstanding dish.

One thing to remember when cooking with wine: never, ever use that horrible cooking wine found in supermarket aisles. Use the same wine you would drink with the meal. In this case I used a hearty barolo from Trader Joe's that gave the dish a robust flavor.

With freshly shaved parmigiano-reggiano and baked garlic bread on the side, this exceptional meal is complete.
